Mister Karaoke was founded by former Army Reserve officer and actor/singer Scotty Newlands as a way to provide professional karaoke services to a wide variety of clients who want to add a personal touch to their shows and events.

The company name was derived as an homage to his time in the military when he was referred to as "Mister Newlands" by higher-ranking Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Members. When trying to decide a name for his brand, one of his patrons referred to him as "Mister Karaoke".....and the rest is history!

Scotty brings fifteen years of hosting experience to the table and has been a professional performer for nearly two decades - both on stage and on screen, as well as being a renowned National Anthem singer for numerous sports franchises and corporations.

Being trained as a performer as well as having solid experience working a soundboard, Scotty has honed his skills in order to present a truly memorable experience to his clients, while paying special attention to sound quality, mixing and visual display, in order to ensure the best possible output for his patron's presentation.

"Singin' With Scotty" is the flagship show where Scotty takes on the role as the host himself, but Mister Karaoke hopes to expand in the future, to include additional hosts who will bring their own unique flavour to the mic! Therefore, MISTER KARAOKE is no longer providing a weekly show. This is truly unfortunate - as it was a great spot with a fantastic team of staff and management.

We wish them all the absolute best in their future endeavours.

KWC Canada - ONE NIGHT ONLY at Smokeshow BBQ and Brew

This will of course be in place of the regular public karaoke show.

I have no further details other than what is presented in this release, so please direct all inquiries to KWC through their website and/or Facebook page.

As always, registration can be done through: kwccanada.com or in person with the KWC judges - before the session begins. The competition rotation will be determined solely by the KWC judging panel.

Remember that there will be a cutoff of entrants after a certain number of individuals have been registered. Show up early to avoid disappointment.

Please note: all competitors must select their songs from the Mister Karaoke SONGBOOK. NO USB MEDIA WILL BE ALLOWED FOR SECURITY REASONS and nothing will be purchased "on-the-fly" for anyone. If you do not see your desired song title listed in the online database, you have until 2000hrs (8pm) EST - 14 Jun 2025 to send a request for addition to: requests@misterkaraoke.ca. After that, the database will be locked for this qualifier session.

MISTER KARAOKE will be at entering The Queen's Legs - every Thursday evening!!

From 8pm - midnight every Thursday, you can get your sing on in this newly renovated and reinvigorated local treasure located in midtown west! The food is exceptional and the staff is incredibly friendly! There are plenty of options for people to chose from and exciting original alternatives to the more "mature libations"...so there's definitely something for everyone!

The inaugural show is set for March 20 - so make sure to stop by, grab a bite and get your sing on in this cozy historic setting!

MISTER KARAOKE and Smokeshow BBQ & Brew Host KWC Qualifiers!

Starting this Wednesday evening, preliminary qualifications will be held on alternating nights for a period of 4 weeks.

Registration can be done through: kwccanada.com/register or in person before the selected qualification session.

The schedule is as follows:

• May 15th - Qualifier
• May 29th - Qualifier
• June 12th - Qualifier
• June 19th - FINAL

Each competitor must attend at least two qualifying nights, but they can attend as many qualifiers at as many venues as they wish. The top two scores from each competitor will determine who advances to the Venue Final.

Please note: all competitors must be select their songs from the Mister Karaoke SONGBOOK. NO USB MEDIA WILL BE ALLOWED FOR SECURITY REASONS.

This is disappointing as we were hoping to re-kindle a relationship which began in this establishment many years ago.

After a complete rebuild - the space at 3482 Lawrence Avenue E. has been transformed into a brand new hotspot known as "Colombo Lounge"! This Sri Lankan inspired venue is a warm and friendly spot for you and your entire family! With careful consideration paid to ensuring the safety and security of it's patrons, Colombo Lounge promises to deliver great cuisine, friendly staff and great time to all who enter through it's doors!

From 8-midnight every Thursday evening, you can get your sing on in this comfortable pad - located at Lawrence Ave and Markham Rd. The location will be very familiar to our MK family and I look forward to developing a new relationship with the CL staff!

After a few unexpected sidelines, January brings with it two new shows: one in a great new downtown location and the other in a pre-established Scarborough favourite!

First off, Mister Karaoke will be bringing it's excellence to The Smith House located at 171 College Street - near the University of Toronto downtown campus! Every Monday evening beginning on January 9, 2023, you can get your sing on from 9pm until 1am. Join us at this newly renovated gem and let's make Monday nights a truly awesome show together!

Secondly, "Singin' With Scotty" will be making a return to Karla's Roadhouse on Thursday evenings. After a decision by management, Scotty will once again be taking the reins of this show each Thursday evening from 8pm until midnight. Join us to keep Mister Karaoke going strong at the Roadhouse!

After a long 2 year hiatus as a result of the global pandemic, the mics are eagerly waiting for your voices to ring out once again!

Slowly but surely, we'll get back to some semblance of normalcy and hopefully this will all become a distant memory in weeks to come.

To say that the recent months of our collective existance have been trying.....would be a colossal understatement!!

The up-and-down roller coaster that we've been on has been nothing short of tiresome. We are glad that things are back on the upswing now. Keeping everyone safe has definitely come at the expense of the performance industry but it was definitely necessary. Now that the tools and resources are in place and cases are on the decline, we are excited to be returning to the public realm.

As was before, we extend our sincere thanks to everyone for their support during this entire global pandemic and ALL subsequent lockdowns.

It's our esteemed pleasure to announce that Mister Karaoke will be returning to "in-person" shows beginning: this Saturday - February 19, 2022 at the fabulous Wingporium Scarborough.

Although there will be the return of all safeguards, the fun and excitement will NOT be sacrificed. As long as we all work together and continue to protect ourselves - the future of karaoke looks promising for this re-re-opening!

The amazingly talented and truly awesome Mandy will be joining the ranks of the MK team and this is indeed fantastic news!

A long time host, great friend and colleague, Mandy brings over two decades of proven experience to the table and all of her of loyal fans would definitely agree that she's the hostess with the mostess!

Mandy is excited to be returning the board and doing what she does best! Come out to Karla's Roadhouse on Kingston Road to be treated to an evening of karaoke fun - each Thursday beginning at 8pm!
